1854 October 24: born at Sherborne (Glos.), England, sixth child of Baron Dunsany
1860: family moved to Dunsany, Co. Meath, Ireland
1872-73: attended university at Oxford
1878: formed Dunsany Co-operative Society
1879-89: ranched in Wyoming during spring and summer, wintered in Ireland
1888: Co-operative Stores for Ireland (article)
1889: attended Annual Co-operative Congress at Ipswich, England; started co-operative store in Doneraile, Co. Cork, Ireland; Co-operative Wholesale Society established first Irish co-operative creamery at Drumcollogher, Co. Limerick, Ireland
1891: founded his first co-operative creamery at Ballyhahill, Co. Limerick, Ireland
1892 July: elected as M.P. for South Dublin
1894 April 18: Irish Agricultural Organisation Society (IAOS) formed
1895 May: re-elected for South Dublin
1897: sworn to Irish Privy Council
1899: Vice-President of Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction
1900 October: defeated in South Dublin election
1901 November: defeated in Galway by-election
1902: Fellowship of the Royal Society
1903: knighted
1904: Ireland in the New Century published
1906: honorary degree from Oxford
1908: Noblesse Oblige; honorary degree from Dublin (TCD)
1910: The Rural Life Problem of the USA
1914: A Better Way: an Appeal to Ulster not to Desert Ireland
1917 July: elected chairman of the Irish Convention
1918: reported on Irish Convention; Home Rule and Conscription; resigned from Congested Districts Board
1920: creameries attacked by military; England's Irish Policy before and after the War
1921: compulsory closure of creameries by military; Anglo-Irish Treaty signed on 7 December
1922: nominated to the Irish Senate (upper house); Ulster Agricultural Organisation Society founded; IAOS obtains annual grant from Free State administration
1923: resigned Senate seat; moved to England after Irish house burned
1929: learned to fly at 75 years of age
1930 August: last visit to Ireland
1932 March 26: died at Weybridge (Surrey), England
